ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Woo Art Studio

Woo Art Studio is an experimental art initiative by John HR Woo. Its principal areas of interest are Integral Art, the Aesthetics of the Unity of Beauty, Truth, and Good, and Art Resilience for Human Life.

After working at the School of Art and Design, Seoul National University of Technology, for over three decades, he moved to Canada, where he worked for Carleton University. During his journey in Art, he changed his life by finding the ultimate object of his inquiry into Art and Human life. Through groping in the dark for ten years, he built his theory of art,” CALIGOMOS ART,” which is an art that seeks after truth.

Now, he concentrates on art and experimental works in Gananoque, ON, where his studio is based. He has developed his work and understanding of art for over thirty years. He has concluded that his main interest lies in Integral Art, which transcends and includes all limited forms, interpretations, or perspectives.

HISTORY OF CALIGOMOS ART

“C’ ART” is an abbreviation for “Caligomos Art,” an art philosophy created by John HR Woo.
