ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Woo Art Studio

Woo Art Studio is an experimental art initiative by HR Woo. The principal areas of interest are Integral Art, Aesthetics of the Unity of Beauty, Truth, and Good, and Art Consilience for Human Life.

After working at the School of Art and Design, Seoul National University of Technology for over three decades, he moved to Canada where he worked for Carleton University. During his journey in Art, he changed his life by finding the ultimate object of his inquiry into Art and Human life. Through groping in the dark for ten years, he built his theory of art ” CALIGOMOS ART”, which is an art that seeks after truth.

Now, he is concentrating on art and experimental works in Gananoque, ON, where his studio is based in. He has been developing his work and understanding of art for over three decades and has concluded that his main interest lies in Integral Art, which transcends and includes all limited forms, interpretations, or perspectives.

HISTORY OF CALIGOMOS ART

“C’ ART” is an abbreviation for “Caligomos Art,” an ART Philosophy created by Heung Woo. This philosophy, introduced on February 22, 2021, on www.wooart.ca in Gananoque, Canada, has gained popularity as a guiding principle for creating art. “C’ ART” and “Caligomos Art” are used interchangeably to refer to the same philosophy or approach to art that embraces the beauty of abstract and minimalistic art.

The guiding principle of “C’ ART” philosophy seeks to create art that is simple, timeless, and accessible. The artworks featured on the Woo ART website are all inspired by this philosophy and are intended to embody its principles. Therefore, “C’ ART” serves more as a guiding principle or philosophy for creating art rather than a specific collection of artworks created by the artist.

Woo ART is actively promoting the “C’ ART” philosophy as an approach to art. The website states that this philosophy embraces the beauty of abstract and minimalistic art and seeks to create simplicity, timelessness, and spirituality in art. The approach encourages artists to create art that embodies these principles, making it accessible and relevant to a broad audience.
